Baby Boston

My cute sister-in-law Jodee just had her second baby and we headed over to visit her in the hospital. Baby Boston is a precious little girl that weighed in at just 6lbs 1oz. She looks and feels just like a little doll:-) Jodee looked amazing and has a great delivery story. That girl is a so lucky when it comes to deliveries.

Welcome to the family Boston! We love you!

I think this picture is so cute! She is so wide awake:-)

We ran into this cute couple at the hospital. Stacy just had a baby like 2 weeks ago and you can barely tell.

Boys, boys, boys

We went over to Art's house on Saturday because one of their bffs was in town. I wonder if guys use the term bff. Probably not. Anyway- Wow, there were a lot of boys there! Art has 4 boys, Dave has 3, and then of course you have to count the big boys Art, Aaron, and Dave.

The basket ball was so intense that the girls (just us three wives) stayed in side.

We missed Ryan and his girls that would have kind of evened out the count. On the plus side I learned how to make really good egg rolls from Jessy (Art's wife). Maybe I'll make them for my next book club:-)

Aaron has been friends with some of these friends since middle school. I have moved around so much it is hard for me to imagine that. Any of you out there still friends with people you knew in middle school? Elementary school?

Do you know what the Battery is in Baseball?

I do.

Friday was Darrel's(Aaron's brother)birthday. He invited us to celebrate by going to a Dodger game. We had a great time.

Sometimes I still think it is funny that I enjoy going to these games. If you had asked me 5 years ago if I like baseball games I would have said- "No, not really". That was all before Aaron came into my life. Right off the bat in our dating Aaron was taking me to sporting events. I think the first picture I have of us we are at a Dodger game. At that point I had no idea what was going on in the game but I did enjoy the food and crowd participation but most of all I like the boy sitting next to me. After that I decided to take some interest in Aaron's two favorite sports baseball and basketball. Aaron was so patient with me and answered all of the (dumb)questions I had while we were watching the games. 4 1/2 years later I can talk sports with the best of them. Well, maybe not the best of them because my sports knowledge is limited to anything that happened after 2006 and has to do with the Dodgers and Lakers. But, that being said I do pretty well. I really embraced it.

I think making that small decision to embrace that one thing that Aaron really likes in our marriage really made a huge difference in the long run. Plus, I think that if I had decided to not like it and resent it the person that would have suffered the most would have been me. Now we can both yell at the TV together:-)

Have any of you out there ever embraced something that your significant other loved that you never thought you would like and then end up liking it? Or visa versa?

(Oh, by the way, I am not the only one in our marriage that learned to like something new for the other)

April book club

The Help by Kathryn Stockett

For April it was my turn to choose the book. After a suggestion from a fellow book club member I choose The Help by Kathryn Stockett. It was a great book and we all enjoyed talking about it. We couldn't stop laughing about the chocolate pie that Rachel brought (read the book to find out why;). I seriously look forward to our book club meeting all month. The girls are so much fun and we have been having good luck with our book choices.

Mmmmmm have a nice big piece of Chocolate pie!
