35 Weeks

35 Weeks! Crazy!

(30 weeks)
Update:
  • Feeling good!
  • The nursery is ready
  • I'm having a lot of braxton hicks contractions
  • Weight gain has slowed down.
  • Starting every week dr. appointments next week
  • Pulled out a bag to start packing it for the hospital. Any suggestions with this?
  • Christmas decorations are up!
  • Dane is very active. I think I'm going to miss feeling all his wiggles.
  • I waddle.
  • Birth plan written up
Seems like everyone I talk to tells me about how I am in the worst part of pregnancy and how it will be the worst month of my life. I almost feel guilty that I still feel relatively good and that I am really enjoying being pregnant. Sure I have a lot of the aches and pains and sleepless nights and the ever expanding body but I just think that being pregnant is the coolest experience ever. I am so grateful to be able to carry our little Dane.

We are very excited to meet him!

I loved my last month with my first pregnancy, too. Enjoy it while you can! As for your hospital bag, comfortable socks, thank you notes (I hate getting behind on those), a cute newborn outfit (for pictures) and some basic makeup & mini mirror for mom to look good in pictures. Trust me, you'll be grateful later--I only did it with one kid and those are the only hospital photos I really like to share....
PS I LOVE your new blog photo at the top! Aaron looks so much like Grandpa Pinegar!

First, I suggest you go and get your toe nails painted. It helps make you feel pretty during delivery knowing that everyone is seeing cute toes!! As for your bag...a cute outfit for Dane, some baggy pajamas (I hate hospital gowns), chapstick and lotion. I am so glad you are enjoying being pregnant!! I am excited for you and Aaron!

No way the worst part of pregnancy is the first trimester! You feel all barfy and no one knows you are pregnant and you can't feel the baby move.
As for hospital bag, I would suggest pack snacks. Some for Aaron and some jolly ranchers or hard candy for you. They have pregnancy pops..which I think are basically suckers. But you'll get hungry if you have a long labor. Bring some jammies, but don't bring nice ones cause they might get ruined.Extra batteries for the camera(we made that mistake with the twins). Bring a heating pad. The ones they have at the hospital suck and are probably from the 70's. A heating pad helps a TON with after birth contractions....Vicodin(I hear) helps as well but I am not a big medication person.

And for after labor can I suggest you stock up on
Epsom Salt(trust me)
Some Granny panties
Extra long pads
nursing pads
And I always ask the nurse for extra mesh panties and as many of the plastic blue sheet things as they will give me. Those things are very handy for any occasion.

Enjoy Hoag I swear it feels like you are at the Hilton!

My last month was nowhere near as bad as the first couple!

I echo what everyone else has said to pack. Ha Ha! I have NO experience whatsoever...but being the slightly OCD anal/retentive that I am I imagine you'll want to pack some face wipes (you probably won't want/be able to get up & wash your face that easily) along with some feminine wipes. (I hate being "messy" or feeling dirty). And I agree with Amy about taking some basic makeup. (maybe mascara, powder to blot the shiny's away and a lippie that makes you feel pretty) Don't forget hair bands or something to hold your hair back.

I agree with Tawni on getting a pedicure too. Great idea.

Snacks sound good too. Everyone seems to be ravenous after the delivery..right after Debi had Nicole she sent me out to buy her a burger. I'm sure Aaron will get you whatever you're craving...
I'm still predicting Jan. 4th =)

I know that I'm probably the one that is the most guilty of telling you that the last month was the worst. Sorry! It definitely was pretty bad for me.

As for your hospital bag, I'm not sure. I didn't use half the stuff that I took. Take jammies, preferably ones that button up the front, it makes nursing easier. (But Erins right, don't take anything that you don't want to get ruined.) The mesh panties are THE best thing EVER! I took a pile of them home. Take a cute going home outfit for you and baby (someone told me that a good rule is to plan on looking about 6 month prego when you leave the hospital.)

I got a pedicure the day before I had Shye and it was the BEST thing ever! You look at your feet a LOT during the whole labor and recovery process so it helps a lot if they look cute.

Oh and a little water-proof mascara is a good idea. :)

I like the last month because of the movement of the baby...

As for the bag:

Comfortable jammies for you(like everyone else says)
2 cute outfits for pics in case he ruins the first one before they take the picture.
snacks for you...hospital food sucks especially with your gluten free needs
comfortable socks...nipple cream, nursing pads, makeup, mirror, going home outfit that is comfortable and easy to get on and off.

You look great and you seem so ready. He is blessed to have such great parents!!!
