Sweet Land of Liberty

We take patriotic holidays pretty serious over here.

I married one very patriotic, conservative, stud muffin.

So for the patriotic holidays we like to make sure that we do something that shows respect to those we are honoring.Last year for Memorial day we took the boys to a national cemetery and walked around and talked about what the significance of the day was. It was pretty powerful.

This year is the first year in a long time that we both had the entire 3 day weekend off so we tried to make the best of it. Unfortunately we didn't make it to the memorial day activity we had planned on going to (darn those nap times) but we had a jam-packed fun weekend.

We started off by going to The Farm for their annual Strawberry Day. They told us all about the origin, growing, and harvesting of strawberries and then let us loose in the fields to pick and eat some. Mikey was in heaven.

Next was car washes in the drive-way. It sure is nice having a place to wash our own cars now. There were a lot of pictures taken during this but after about the first 5 minutes of washing the cars both Dane and Michael stripped all their clothes off. Since I'm trying to keep this blog PG you only get one baby booty shot...because it seriously is the cutest. Big brother to the rescue!

Then to finish off the weekend we met up with friends at a park to picnic. All this kids played hard and the adults enjoyed good food and company. Over all it was such a great weekend!
